UPOV Council Holds its Forty-Eighth Ordinary Session

The Developments on the Plant Breedersâ Rights Act for Zanzibar

The Council noted that the Plant Breedersâ Rights Act of Zanzibar, which was adopted by the Zanzibar
House of Representatives, incorporated the changes in the decision of the Council of March 22, 2013, and
agreed that the additional changes did not concern the substantive provisions of the 1991 Act of the
UPOV Convention. The legislation governing breedersâ rights now covers the whole territory of the
United Republic of Tanzania and the United Republic of Tanzania can become a UPOV member.

Die Trade Mark Rules in Sansibar wurden 2004 dahingehend geÃ¤ndert, dass anstelle der alten britischen Klassifikation nunmehr die 8. Ausgabe der Internationalen Warenklassifikation angewandt wird (3. Anhang/Schedule der Trade Mark Rules). Mit Hilfe der WIPO wird eine Revision der bisher gÃ¼ltigen britischen Markengesetzgebung von 1938 vorbereitet. Tansania ist mit Wirkung vom 3. August 1999 der ARIPO (Harare-Protokoll) beigetreten und kann damit Ã¼ber eine ARIPO-Bestimmung in einer PCT-Anmeldung benannt werden, gleichfalls mit Wirkung vom 1.
